	A family drama unfolds in the Tidewater Region of colonial Maryland! Martin McDonnell enjoys an idyllic existence growing up on a tobacco plantation in the early 1750's. His grandfather, Thomas, oversees a large number of enslaved Africans and brings prosperity to the owner, Colonel Cornelius Edgeworth, a prominent Catholic planter. Young Martin works hard on the plantation, attends private school, and engages in daily adventures with Ishmael, the slave boy he calls his 'brother'.

Author Eddie Price is the award winning author of the historical novel - Widder’s Landing. In 2017 Mr. Price announced his new book An Unlikely Trio - The Winners of the 1913 Kentucky Derby. This book arrived in conjunction with Mr. Prices’s new portrayal for The Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua program of Roscoe Goose the winning jockey in the book.

In addition Mr. Price is a speaker for the Kentucky Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.

In 2018 One Drop A Slave was published. It was the sequelto Widder’s Landing.That book was followed by Rebels Abroad in 2022, which is a prequel to the popular series.
